Netzwerk Plurale Ökonomik e.V.
“Usually young economists are exclusively confronted with neoclassical economics in their training, later in their career doctoral students, postdocs and professors of economics are exposed to a significant pressure to comply. The solution of real social problems takes a back seat behind mathematical “objectivity” and excessive dogmatism. This is not only the internal problem of an academic discipline, but also has an impact on society as a whole through the economic policy recommendations of economists, which affect everyone. The aim of the network is to give space to the full variety of economic theories, to focus on solving real problems and to promote self-criticism, reflection and openness in the science of economics. In doing so, we deliberately go beyond the orthodox discourse and specifically address our concerns to civil society, politics and the media ”. The Canopus Foundation has been supporting the Plural Economics Network since 2019 in the implementation of several projects, including a translation of the "Exploring Economics" website and the introductory phase of certified courses in plural economics in 2019 - 2021.
